Summer Tennis Lessons
Dear potential Student and Parent/Guardian,
Here we go again. The summer is almost here and it is time to plan all of your summer activities. This year I am coming back to Olney more excited than ever to teach tennis. This was my second year of college tennis. I can't wait to share with my students what I have learned from my experiences. I am excited to continue with all of those that I have worked with in the past. But, I am also excited for the opportunity that I will have this summer to work with many new students. Tennis in Olney is growing right now, and it is very exciting to see. Since this past summer, I have been approached by many new people about tennis lessons this summer. I am very excited that so many people are finding an interest in the game that I love. However, this will change how things work in my program a little bit this summer. Last summer I did many private lessons. With all of the new students I simply will not have time to do as many private lessons. That being said, I will be starting group lessons this summer. Some groups will be large; others may be as few as two people. Once I start receiving Student Information Forms, I will begin grouping students. Then I will be able to plan out a schedule for this summer. I will do my very best to accomplish the impossible task of making a schedule that works for everyone. So if you are interested, fill out the Student Information Form and the Media Release Form, then, get it back to me as soon as possible! If you have any questions do not be afraid to ask me. Get in touch with me via phone or E-mail. Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Coach Kyle Shipman
Tennis Lesson Rates Summer 2012
This summer all private lessons will be $15 per hour. This summer I will also be offering group lessons. The group lesson rate is reduced based on the number of students in the group. For a group of two the rate is $12 per hour. A group of three or more the rate is $10 per hour. With private lessons I recommend that all students take a minimum of two lessons per week. Many times students who only take one lesson per week will easily forget what we worked on the week before. Especially if they do not invest much time in tennis outside of the lessons, it can be as if we are starting over each week. This can be very detrimental to the student's growth as a player. In the past, I had some students take lessons once a week, while others four times a week. The final decision is up to you. Get in touch with me and we will get started.
